Why they got in touch with Central Flooring
They secured a project with one of their clients and wanted us to complete this resin flooring installation. It was for a butchery-food production company in South Somerset. They needed a production area and a space to store and distribute the goods.
About the project
CG Fry are an existing customer; we’ve completed multiple projects for them over the years and we look forward to working with them again.
Project
Installing an 800m² hygienic flooring system within the butchery and food production area.
Product
RESDEV Pumadur SL is a 2-3mm medium duty self-smoothing polyurethane floor topping, with a smooth matt finish. The contractor specified we used Pumadur RT – this 9mm resin is a heavy-duty polyurethane floor screed which disperses water and has a lightly textured surface and a matt topping finish. It’s hygienic and hard wearing – it can handle the wet, heavy traffic, and being steam cleaned.
The area was pulled together with stainless steel trim that went above the 150mm Pumadur CG coving, to reduce floor to wall joints making it even more hygienic and a food friendly environment.
Preparation
This project required a lot of prep; including a mechanical diamond grind to the sub-floor with an STR prep machine. In some areas we had to create falls using Pumabulk to existing drains to make sure the waste didn’t collect in certain areas. We then applied a self-leveller to the sub floor to give us a flat surface to work with.
Project Duration
Access was required to certain areas within the building – so we completed the installation over 6 phases.
