It has to be said, resin flooring has a lot going for it. In terms of its characteristics, it’s attractive, strong, colourful and very easy to work with, which is why it takes centre stage in most commercial and industrial settings.

It goes without saying then, that we’re big fans of this versatile material. But it’s more than that – we genuinely care about the profession and the people who work in it. That’s why we’re members of the Resin Flooring Association, otherwise known as FeRFA.

Our Directors, Kyle Stokes and Richard Jinks have both served on FeRFA Council – and more recently, Richard was elected Vice Chairman. FeRFA represents the industry with all things resin flooring – including the delivery of specialist training, developing British and European standards and hosting the FeRFA Best Practice Awards. It supports 130 leading organisations – 23 Associates, 84 Contractors and 23 Manufacturers.

We’ve recently caught up with Mark Spowage, FeRFA’s CEO to reflect on Central’s journey over the last seven years. “Kyle and Richard have used their professional approach to leadership and running a business to help shape our Association, said Mark. They’ve contributed to the industry just by being a part of the Council for all these years and giving direction.

Their commitment to staff training is something they’ve completely embraced. Central Flooring was an early adopter of our In-Situ Resin Flooring NVQ Level 2 training scheme – and are one of our top three contractors in terms of the number of learners who’ve completed it. They’ve trained ten employees to date, plus there’s another three due to start in March. It goes to show they’re dedicated to upskilling the industry.”

FeRFA is a not-for-profit organisation and the only one dedicated to our industry.

“It’s a privilege to be part of the council and everything FeRFA stands for, said Richard. We all want the same thing – to do our absolute best for the industry, by championing and shaping it for the now – as well as future generations”.
